Cultural Heritage
Combining advanced degrees in international relations and cultural heritage studies with a career in business communications and sustainability, I actively seek ways to contribute to the understanding and practice of cultural heritage in the modern world, as part of creating a sustainable future. I welcome opportunities to support heritage projects in practical ways through communications and stakeholder engagement, as well as academic projects to examine the intersection of heritage with modern politics, diplomacy and economics.
Participated in online webinar series, ‘Cultural Heritage in Crisis’ co-hosted by the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy and the Foreign Affairs Institute Greece. Spoke in panel #2 on private sector involvement in heritage and the role of cultural heritage stewardship in the global sustainability agenda.

Conceived, researched and wrote a pioneering Joint Special Report of the UN Alliance of Civilizations and The UN Global Compact on ‘Doing Business in a Multicultural World’ – about the vital stake and role of business in fostering cultural dialogue and understanding, as part of creating a sustainable future.
The State Hermitage Museum
On behalf of The Coca-Cola Company, negotiated and launched one of the first corporate sponsorship arrangements with the the State Hermitage Museum, working with distinguished Director, Dr. Mikhail Piotrovsky. Funded a much-needed renovation of a laboratory for restoring its unparalleled collection of Russian and European icons.
World Monuments Fund
Conducted a short-term research project to investigate cultural heritage policies in African countries and identify opportunities for expanded WMF involvement in the region.
Ename Centre for Public Archaeology
Presented paper on ‘Cultural Heritage Conservation and Corporate Social Responsibility’ to the Ename Symposium – defining the types of private sector involvement in heritage, examining potential benefits and risks, and exploring opportunities of the current global discussion on sustainable business practices.
Institute of Archaeology, UCL
Prepared the interpretative text for an exhibit on the international networks of the Institute, using objects from the office of its late director, Peter Ucko. Academic papers include: ‘Crimes against culture? Examining the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas and the Babri Mosque‘, ‘Visitor access to archaeological sites‘, ‘Barbarians at the Gate? Private sector involvement in heritage.’
